Altebrilas:I think that moderators should be more strict about the rules of the forums: the national-language forums only for beginners, and the other topics in esperanto only.
Where are you taking this "rule" from? I couldn't find it in the lernu! rules.
My understanding is that darkweasel (who, admittedly, must speak on his own) is suggesting a change in the principles (one might say rules) of lernu!, not that such a rule now exists. (Unless I am misunderstanding, of course.)
Uh? It wasn't me but Altebrilas who said anything like that. rideto.gif

Sorry. I talked about "rules" but it was only a moderator's recommandation in a french forum. I thought it was written somewhere.

Nevertheless, I think it would be good to encourage people to use esperanto forums for topics that interest them.

I have no real issue with the E-o forums, other than the fact that my reading comprehension isn't all the way there. It's good practice to go over there and read a few posts, but it's a bit draining after a while (or rather quickly, depending on my mood). I have the same problem with liberafolio.org. I find the articles there very interesting, but I rarely read them because of the effort that it takes me to get through some of them (even though in a perfect world, the needed effort would just motivate to read there more often). lango.gif

I've made a poll on this topic, called English forum survey. Hopefully that will provide some understanding on the topic as a whole.

Now you can understand what the rest of the world feel about English, and Esperanto is ten times easier...

Altebrilas:Some users complain that there is too few people using esperanto forums.malgajo.gif

I noticed that the most interesting topics were on national-language forums. I think it is too bad, because the aim of this site is to help people to learn and to practize esperanto.

I know it is easier to write in his own language, but it would be good that people who master esperanto make more posts in eo-forums... sal.gif
You can try to write with easier esperanto at eo-forums so as to make it possible for beginners to jump in to the discussion. Because the main reason for higher activity on national-language forums is that beginners are able to participate in.

Planoj pri la estonto de lernu! (Plans for the future of lernu!) - Thread made by Jev of the lernu! team, chief programmer, so obviously somewhat important.

English Forum Survey (Survey about how much and why we use the English/Esperanto forums)

(thanks Qwertz for the first link!)

Sorry. When the attributions got several levels deep, I lost track of who was saying what. ploro.gif

I am conscious of the problem.

I hope that some day will exist a tool to display words (or roots, more precisely) in different colors according to their difficulty (There is a classification of esperanto roots in 9 or 10 groups).

So it would be possible to correct at once the parts of a message which are too difficult to understand.

Meanwhile, it is possible to ask the author for explanations about an obscure part of the text...

You are absolutely correct. Almost nobody do that. But I would say it's a question of times(nowadays), people are not interested in what you are writing but in what they are writing and if additionally you write a message in difficult language you can be sure that nobody will read it.
