qwertz:Sorry, you didn't get it. You just keep staying nearby the position pole you piled into the ground: "I gave chainy a joke reason", which at least I didn't received like a joke. And for that I requested further information. Because I was interested what can be funny about you told. Do you understand? I was very strong interested at what you tried to tell. (=your message). What's wrong with that my own intention to be interested at others talks/informations/opinions?
Hey, man. It was not intended to offend anyone. When one of my fellow-citizens noticed : "Why can't you see it is a joke", I only warned him not to say this "Why can't you" words, because I know how touchy some users of this forum can be. And was I not right about this - see for yourself.

And what funny:

imagine Japanese making esperanto film and giving it English subtitles... rido.gif rido.gif rido.gif sal.gif rido.gif rido.gif rido.gif rido.gif

Though I have seen some Japanese films with English subtitles - but they were talking Japanese and there was this big monster - GODZILLA.

OK, clearly, both parties here have misunderstood eachother grossly, and I suggest you guys both forgive and forget and learn from this misunderstanding for future conversations ridulo.gif (Perhaps the use of "(only joking!)" tags down the bottom of jokes should be encouraged more tie ĉi?)

So, everyone hug to make up! (Actually don't, aside from the fact it's impossible over the internet it's a little strange for grown men to do that rido.gif)

paulopolo:Why you don't understand such simple jokes...
Don't write such words, because ... [meaningful silence]
... because folks from other culture areas around you are intented to die stupid? (That's how I receive your message* okulumo.gif )
Okay. It was some intercultural communication confusion. So, it's on me to excuse for that? Okay, for the sake of peacefull Eo fellowship: I'm sorry, that I did interpret your comment in the way of my personal culture background.

Yes, intercultural communication can be quite challenging.

Peace, happiness, pancake.* sal.gif

Thanks.

Jokes are often based on absurd - I remember some Monty Pyton films. They were extrimely funny due to the absurdity of the situation:

A tiger ate the leg of an British officer and he did not notice it while reading a book. Later his men looked for the leg in the suroundings but found only two other men dressed in tiger skins who accidently had some leg with them. rido.gif sal.gif

Do, yes. I have seen "Monty Python’s Life of Brian" and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". But it was German dubbed which was funny but probably removed lots of English humour nuances. Most movies which will shown at German cinemas are German dubbed, which in my opinion removes a lot of the original movies authenticity.

Regarding movie dubbing. Because there excist no industry right now which produces Esperanto language movies, dubbing of movies could be an workaround to fill that deficit. Take a look at Mefisto movie which is Esperanto language dubbed. Hhm, would be interesting to find out who dubbed that movie. Maybe s/he can give some information how to develop the required skills to make good dubbing work.

Oh, somebody dubbed Sintel esperantlingve. English subtitles can be switch on via the CC button.

I don't like all dubbed movies, sound for me funny and strange because voices don't fit. Only subtitlesridulo.gif. Do you know where one can find esperanto subtitles for movies?
