Hello. Now that ICANN is accepting applications for new TLDs, I was wondering if there is enough interest in .eo to support a self-sufficient registry.

I was thinking about setting up a "pre-registrar" to allowing bidding and reserving of .eo 2nd-level domains. If the service proves popular, becoming a real registrar could be looked into more closely.

It's complicated how much we need to realize the idea. But if we had pledges for 10000 domains at €20/year we may be able to get some backing.

That's about what you would need. I think the bidding starts at US$150000 for the new TLDs.
