Esperanto Events in Oregon

I was curious if anyone knows if there are any Esperanto events in Oregon, USA?

I tried looking online, but I couldn't come up with anything. I'm not familiar with the Esperanto community, so it was difficult for me to come up with anything. I can always rely on lernu to help me though.

If anyone knows anything, please let me know. Thank you!

Seems to be that USEJ organizes regular Skype meetings. You could ask there, too.

The Oregon group information has changed. For a while there wasn't any groups. Then there was a guy named Thomas running the group, and that wasn't even really a group, and that was about a year ago. Now it looks like another guy is running the Oregon group. I didn't even bother to look because I thought Thomas was still running it, and he didn't even have any groups organized.

I've been thinking about starting a group in the Portland area. It would be nice to get some people together to discuss some ideas. I have a lot of ideas but I'm kind of unsure where I should start. There are a few people on "meet-up" that have expressed an interest in an E-o group. We should all get together and do some planning or something. You can E-mail me at similyj@yahoo.com

Be sure to send a personal message to the lernu users who indicated that they live in Oregon. Not everyone reads the forums regularly (or at all), so you might reach more people that way.

You have to do it one by one, unfortunately. It's annoying but this feature also helps to protect our users against spammers using our system. If there are a lot of people, you may have to break up the sending over more than one day; there's a maximum number of messages per day that users can send (again, an anti-spammer measure).

When you search profiles, be sure to search for names of major cities in Oregon and for possible Esperanto equivalents. And search for both "Oregon" and "Oregono" in profiles; some people put the name of the place in English and some people put it in Esperanto.
