Are we heading for Tutmonda Ekonomia Rajpo or is this just Pura Paniko?

However, for a change I think I agree with more conservative media here and think we should temporarily scrap all controversial-and-possibly-damaging-in-the-short-term taxes until we're through the incoming mess, then we can worry about the environment after (I'm pro being nicer to the environment and reconciling the human ecosystem with the rest of the world, but if we go under because of it, there's no point).
I think another big change is that corporations have evolved into things more international, without a clear "home base", so it'll be interesting to see how things proceed this time round, with such slight yet important changes.
That is assuming that this will have a bigger impact than the "GFC".
But there's potential for great mess. China and Russia and a few other joints own US debt basically, so that could impact them, but also theirs other destabilising influences, aren't there? I mean, doesn't China artificially modify the value of its currency? That could get messy quickly.
I think we're seeing the end of US economic dominance though. I don't think US citizens should be concerned about their dominance in other areas though, since it's a bit silly to think the US will suddenly disappear from the map over a setback like this. Change of some kind is coming though...

Of course, if politicians all decided to take a temporary pay cut, I think many of these problems could be easily solved in a much shorter time frame. Not for too long though, that's not fair no matter how anti-govt you are!

Miland:I believe the correct Esperanto word for what has happened is plonĝo .. oh, you mean the question WASN'T about Esperanto?Good point. This kind of discussion is supposed to be in the Esperanto language forum. Particularly as Sudanglo knows Esperanto very well!

Kraŝo is not just for aeroplanes falling out of the sky, but also for Borsaj eventoj.
Are the recent falls an antaŭsigno of a venonta Ekonomia Rajpiĝo - that is the question.

sudanglo:Are the recent falls a sign of a coming economic crisis - that is the question.Such questions, in my view, all in Esperanto, belong on the Esperanto-speaking forums, so I'll put it there: ĉu la antaŭnelonga borsa plonĝo aŭguras pli seriozan ekonomian krizon?
