I was just wondering if there would really be an Esperanto conference here in Texas.

Yes, next summer's US national Esperanto convention will be in Texas. I have discussed it with the organizers personally.
There is even a chance that a future NASK (summer Esperanto courses) will be held there. Keep a look out!
