Esperanto allows for whole sentences to take the place of the subject or the object. In the sentence "Ĉiuj scias ke esperanto estas lingvo", the object is "ke esperanto estas lingvo". In the sentence "Plaĉas al mi, ke vi ŝatas min", the subject is "ke vi ŝatas min".
You have to practice more and familiarize yourself with the verbs; with time it will become easier, I promise

ceigered:It goes like this: Esperanto is full of flaws and since it is different, it needs repairs (after 123 years of usage!) It is OK. But if you say that English is not up to the role it is trying to play - you are a terrorist. I have nothing against English. It is a wonderful national language, very good for its native users - just like any language is. The problem starts when it is going to become "lingua de la planeta". That is what I don't like. And if someone said that the Polish grammar is weird - I only would happily agree - because truly it is. I would not take it as an attack on the Polish language. And of course I would never recommend Polish as a world language. That is the simplest way to spoil the beauty of it - just look what English is spoken internationally, is it really the beloved language of Shakespeare? No, it is a dull Globish, a primitive slang. How can you stand the beautiful English words are twisted in all possible ways by foreigners... I travelled a lot and heard enough of this.geo63:If English was so good, every one would be happy with it. It is not. That the result. And the sentence is more than true in every its word.Well, not everyone's happy with Esperanto either, so all of us striving to be Bilingual English-Esperanto speakers are ultimately buggered by the sounds of things.

geo63:What's a terrorist got to do with this? Or do you just like the word?

English is not 'trying to play' a role. It is simply used by a lot of people around the world at the moment, regardless of your theories. And why not? People obviously find it useful.
geo63:I have nothing against English. It is a wonderful national language, very good for its native users - just like any language is.Well, I'm happy that you like English.
geo63:The problem starts when it is going to become "lingua de la planeta". That is what I don't like. Why are you even bothering to tell us this? Over and over again... As if we haven't heard this story before!? Do you not realize who you are talking to? If you haven't noticed, we are learning Esperanto here.
geo63:And if someone said that the Polish grammar is weird - I only would happily agree - because truly it is. I would not take it as an attack on the Polish language.Obviously Polish grammar is pretty weird. Why are you telling us this?
It just gets very boring constantly seeing your empty comments about how much better Esperanto would be as the main international language compared to English. We all know these arguments, we've heard them a million times, particularly from you.
And the merits of Esperanto are true in comparison to any national language, so stop banging on just about English as if you have just discovered some huge revelation.

darkweasel:yes geo63, but the point is that nobody was talking about this in this thread.Absolutely. That's precisely my point. But Geo just can't help himself. He always has to slip in some remark about English... It gets very tedious.

Chainy:And you can't avoid to be touched by a harmless comment. Your nick should change to "touchy". There was no problem until you came in, man (as always with Chainy). And don't try to make a fool with me. In future I will just ignore your malicious comments.darkweasel:yes geo63, but the point is that nobody was talking about this in this thread.Absolutely. Chainy:I thought 34-year old Englishmen were polite people. From what I see here I must change my attitude a bit.geo63: And don't try to make a fool with me.To be honest, you make that quite easy really.
And who is greater fool? The fool or the one that argues with him?

geo63:In future I will just ignore your malicious comments.Do you even know what malicious means? I didn't make any such remark - I merely objected to your utterly irrelevant comment about English, something which you talk about painfully often.
You then threw some strange accusations at me, followed by the suggestion that I shouldn't try to make a fool of you. I wasn't actually trying to do that, but you've clearly done your best to lead me to that course of action. You dug your own hole there.
