Cheap Esperanto stuff?

Ah, yes. Thanks. I took the chance to buy 5 VK-albums at the last FESTO event at the Kastelo Greziljono. (Vinilkosmo organized the music concert and has the whole Vinilkosmo cd range available onsite.)

Most of the books I have have been given to me by my friends.

There are times when someone gives me a PDF of a book, so I print that out and bind it myself. XD

I believe I bought my very first Esperanto book (Teach Yourself Esperanto) from Amazon, but I'm not 100% sure. It was very close to six years ago, and my memory isn't what it used to be.

However, I know for a fact that ALL my other Esperanto purchases have been through the Esperanto-USA bookstore. I've ordered from them several times now, and the service has always been extremely good.

Once, they sent me my books along with an advertisement (one amongst quite a few they include with orders) stating that if the customer bought ONE OF THE BOOKS I'D JUST BOUGHT, they could pick out a book of equal or lesser value for free. Even though I had already received all the books I'd ordered, I immediately sent them an email asking if I could still take advantage of the offer. They actually said yes! (Honestly, I hadn't expected it, as it was completely after-the-fact.) That's where my copy of the PMEG came from.

So, I give them two solid thumbs up.

I have never heard of anonymous micropaying. It must be a European thing, I think?

Does anyone besides qwertz pay with a system like that, and what system do you use?

I think he's referring to prepaid cash cards, e.g. like a gift voucher card mixed with a debit card.

I think Visa and Mastercard are releasing them here in conjunction with the big retailers like Woolworths. Australia Post have prepaid visa cards at least.

Not sure how compatible they are with online retailers since I've heard words ranging from "most" to "every".

I've wanted to test them, but since I'm fine with my existing debit card (well, I though I was), and since testing requires potential loss of money and requires me to have money, not happening for a while...

Yes, micropaying is something similar like gift voucher cards. But micropaying targets at anonymous e-commerce money transfer. So its mainly for buying something online without leaving personal privacy (name ktp) footprints. Like possible offline at the local supermarket, too.

Gift voucher cards are something totally different, I think.

Those Visa/Mastercard gift voucher cards have a lot of hidden fees (at least in the US) and they end up being very expensive to use.

Hhm, then I don't know the correct English word for that. There's a demo video. For me it looks like an self-initiated (means no gift) Voucher system.

Like many usonanoj, I've ordered through Esperanto-USA. I was very pleased with the service.

I've done the pound-of-used-books thing, too. It turned out to be a fun mix of stuff. There was a teatraĵo, a collection of Hungarian folk songs translated to Esperanto with sheet music, and a mathematical vortaro, among other things.

I've also purchased Esperanto material from both Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

I'd like to have more music available in the U.S. Last time I looked around, what was available was kind of pricey.
