Hi

I can definitely input new word lists if you want to create them.

Word lists should be formatted as a text file, Esperanto words only (no English translation), one word per line. You can use the x-convention or include circumflexes, but don't use the h-convention to write the words, because the system won't automatically convert that. You should preferably say what the list is, in case it isn't clear from the contents.

If you want to submit a list, it's no trouble for me to input it. You can either send me the list as a message to my username, or else contact me privately at my username and I'll give you my e-mail address so you can send it directly there.

erinja:Hi

Some of you may be aware that in the "Juna Amiko" section of lernu's publications page, there is a list of around 1500 words that the editors of Juna Amiko felt were the most commonly used in Esperanto. They are arranged in seven categories; category 1 has the most frequent (or useful) words, category 7 has the least frequent. There is one additional category that isn't numbered, with more words that the Juna Amiko staff felt were useful.

There is a longer explanation here:
http://en.lernu.net/biblioteko/gazetoj/juna_amiko/...

This list has been on the site for a long time. The news is that I spent some time inserting those words, arranged by category, into lernu's word learning system, so you can now use the lernu vocabulary section to practice the words, by category, just as you would practice any other vocabulary taught here.

You can find the word-learning version of the Juna Amiko list here:

Thank you so much Erinja but the page is no longer function. Has the admin moved to other pages ? I used this page to tell friends how easy to learn Esperanto. But now, I could not find it ploro.gif

The page on Juna Amiko is gone, but the same words are still available as lists in the word learning section.

The unified word list is still available elsewhere online; for example, here

Thank you, Erinja! If you still have a text file of the categories, I could upload them to Quizlet.com, too, so learners can download them for use with Flashcards on the iPhone, etc. sal.gif

I don't think I kept any of the files I used to create the lists.

Oh, well. Mind if I use your description of the lists as I generate them on Quizlet.com?

You can use my description but be sure to give proper credit - to lernu.net and to Juna Amiko magazine.

Owww, I've been looking for something just like this.
Grandan dankon!

erinja (Arată profil) 1 aprilie 2012, 18:27:25

Leke:Owww
A hint for you - we say "ow" in English when we feel pain. If you want to say "I understand now!" the expression in English is "Oh"

Owwwww, that really hurt me!
Ohhhhhh, I get it now. Etc. ridulo.gif

Obviously this is why we need Esperanto!
