In fact, it's as if he got the Slavic system, replaced cases with prepositions, and replaced all the words with Greco-Latin ones minus a few.

Perhaps (linking this back to the topic) this might be an interesting educational tool in the BRIC countries then rather than aiming at diplomacy first?

Also: Aldilaŭĉjo "Aldilowtch", Paclaŭĉjo "Patslowtch" (Mirosław is a bit beyond me)? Anyone for giving their kid slavic-inspired Anglicised Esperanto names? hehe.

Zamenhof did not invent those things - they existed long before esperanto ever saw the world. But main difference is that it is regular with esperanto where in Polish it is just crazy.

But back to topic - I would be more than happy if BRIC countries adopted esperanto. That would solve many, many things, which are now only partly solved with English at a great expense (10 years learning time, low command...).

ppk89:'BRIC' stands for Brazil, Russia, India and China, in other words, the emerging economies which will soon dominate the world. However for none of them English is native language so it's not very likely that they will take on English as a main business language.

Do you think that Esperanto could play this role and it would be a good 'opportunity' for it to gain popularity?

A very interesting topic. I think in a nutshell that Internacia Komenca Esperanta Federecio should make more serious effort in organising trade fairs. The Esperanto Merchant League in China is going into the 5 th year now.
