I neglected to mention, in case it's of interest, that at Eldonejo Mistera Sturno all the EPubs are not only free but that each also comes with a built-in dictionary of such terms as the translator expects will be new to most komencantoj. Eight stories are currently translated, four each of fantasy and science fiction, all by the Hugo and Nebula award winning author Jack Vance. And, of course, all translated with his permission and also that of his estate, a privilege granted some years ago, but only to me, and for which I paid out of pocket all I could afford at the time.

In fact, I would very appreciate for komencantoj to help with proofreading so as to flag any such words as ought be added to the dictionaries just mentioned.

I get a messsage that that page does not exist and that the name/address may be misspelled. Pls check and correct if necessary. This is of interest to me. Thanks

I do have the nook reader for a couple of years. It works well. One can read PDF, EPubs... I like it because often I read long (copied) texts which I don't like to read in front of the computer.

"Nook" from Barnes & Noble can actually refer to any one of several devices. There is/was the original Nook e-reader. Then there was the Nook Tablet, followed by a second version of the Tablet. Now, if my information is correct, Samsung makes a Nook device in cooperation with B&N. Also there is the Simple Touch. All of these devices go under the name "Nook." I have the first version of the Tablet, and it does a very good job of displaying PDFs (including material in Esperanto).

The default standard format for all modern eReaders is the EPub format. For all but the Kindle, whose official defaults are still Mobi and AZW (which is DRM'd Mobi). But even the Kindle, at least in all of its recent editions, supports also EPub. Not that Amazon wanted to, but bowed to the demands of its customer base some while ago. Thus EPub works for all but some very old, second-hand Kindles. Nearly all also will display PDF. But with PDF you cannot get any reflowing text. Thus with PDF a page will be the same page on any size display whatsoever. Even with only a browser you now can read EPubs. EPub apps are free for both Firefox and Chrome. Those two I've tested. I've also heard rumor of one for IE8. When even Microsoft at very long last drags itself onto any public bandwagon, you can call it a done deal for sure.

At Eldonejo Mistera Sturno I provide EPub, Mobi and PDF for the convenience of all. But you, yourself, with a program called Calibre, can change inbetween formats. In fact, it is within Calibre that I edit and maintain all the formats I offer. A friend of mine stuck with an old Kindle uses Calibre to transfer EPubs to Mobi so he can read them.

PDFs are a boon for there being so very many. But if you've a choice, best to select an EPub download, as it is now the eReader standard...when there's a choice. Never select an AZW unless it is for a Kindel as the DRM will defeat your every effort to view or transfer it.

Any eBook can read pdf. But this pdf must be formed for your reader's screen size. You can use, for example, fb2pdf to form such pdf. Note, that you need use font with Esperanto letters to form Esperanto books.
The new kindle has Android inside, as I know. Can you upgrade it by CoolReader to use new formats?
