hiyayaywhopee:It's really important, I think, to have someone that you can meet and practice Esperanto with.
That's definitivly the best way to memorize and motivate Esperanto vocabulary with personal experiences.

We will see on finding someone who speaks Eperanto. However I am in the middle of nowhere in the US, and right now I am still getting the Esperanto Grammar rules learned, though I must admit, they are much easier then Latin or Spanish!

Funny enough, my main goal is to be able to read Esperanto Literature and perhaps write literature in Esperanto. Though I understand that speaking it would be a major step forward, but I need to take baby steps as learning a non-native language has always been very difficult for me, but that is why I am enjoying the challenge.

As a question, what do you recommend for a English-Esperanto dictionary?

The one by Wells.

There is a uni-directional English to Esperanto dictionary by Benson, which is useful if you are translating into Esperanto.

However, I do not recommend buying it now unless you really need it. I have it on good authority that a new edition is being prepared, and I'd wait till the new one comes out.

Ĉu vere! Do you know when it will be published, at least roughly?

I don't know, sorry. The only thing I know is that it's in the editing stages, so the basic text must be ready.

If someone has Benson's email address, they should let him know that under "please", plaĉi should be marked as (ntr), not (tr), since it doesn't take a direct object.

Oh, that's good news Erinja.

It obviously can (though it rarely does) take an -n, even if you consider it just a replacement for al.

We discussed this about two years ago, here: Plaĉi al mi and/or plaĉi min - seems that in that thread you had a different position to now.
