So, I got my bi-monthly Usona Esperantisto for Sep - Okt, and on the back of the bulletin, it says you can write a letter to Avo Frosto. Something that I thought my nephews who are learning Esperanto might like to do. However, something that doesn't make sense to me is the address you send the letter. This is the address:

AVO FROSTO
NORDA POLUSA
KANADO - CANADA
HOH OHO

There is no zip code, building number, or anything... Is this even a real address? It makes me think that if I were to help my nephews write a letter, that maybe the address isn't even real.

Anyone who can shed some light on this would be greatly appreciated! ridulo.gif

It is a real address. H0H 0H0 is a real Canadian Postal code: See here in the section, Santa Claus:

HOH OHO is an actual Canadian style zipcode. so the address is valid, and its uniqueness I suppose makes it easier for the mail to be sorted properly. Santa Claus or Avo Frosto is the only resident of Canada's HOH OHO zipcode.

Stefana, that should be Norda Poluso in the second line of the address.

It's real.
In Canada, we use postal codes, not zip codes.
They read like this: Letter-Digit-Letter Digit-Letter-Digit rideto.gif
