erinja:The last couple disks of Dolchamar have pretty professional sounding production values (Rebela Sono and Trejn tu noŭer).
That's funny. I was listening to "Ni cxuij ni" by Dolchamar from Rebela Sono this morning on Musaiko and thinking I may need to purchase the album.

36lima:"Carina kantas por vi en Esperanto" is a pretty good album in general (at least in my opinion). I especially like Kantu Vian Sorton.
Tell me, where does one find the music? Is it a CD perhaps? I couldn't find it at the Retbutiko or Amazon. ploro.gif

Dankon kaj amike!

You can buy those CDs directly from Vinilkosmo, the main Esperanto music publisher. There's also an MP3 store so you can buy the songs and download them right away.

Strangely, the CD store and the MP3 store are two separate websites.

Even if you plan on buying a physical disk, I recommend visiting the MP3 store, which offers lots of sound clips to listen to, so you can get a good idea of which CDs you want to buy.

Just wanted to say I think the Esperanto cafe idea is totally awesome. ridulo.gif

Also, I'm pretty sure you could do that in a non off-putting way where the Esperanto theme would just seem cute or quirky to those not in the club... it would be a bit like cafes here in Amsterdam where the menus are bilingual Dutch/English.

Thanks! That's pretty much how I was thinking it could be done as well. Sort of light-hearted and fun but still a place where Esperantists of all stripes could relax and actually use the language while non-Esperantists could enjoy the unique atomosphere.

This whole thread actually got me thinking of possible t-shirt ideas and I may try to get some made for NASK in June.

One idea I'm thinking about is a green or black shirt with a black/white photo of Zamenhof on the front with a milk mustache and on the back the words: "Cxu vi havas lakton?" It's funny to me but I've got a little bit of a quirky sense of humor so it may not amuse anyone but me.

Also, there's a video of Kantu Vian Sorton on Facebook. The quality isn't as good as the clip on Vinilkosmo but you can listen to the whole song.

For what it's worth, the whole album passed muster with both my daughters (12 and 14) shoko.gif

erinja:There aren't any good Esperanto movies. We don't really have the population to support it. The best use of Esperanto in film that I have seen is use of Esperanto to make subtitles for movies from various countries.
I recently watched Attack of the Lunar Zombies (Atako de la lunaj zombioj) which has an Esperanto audio track. The fact that it was dubbed into Esperanto was the ONLY reason I watched it.

Amike,

Paul

erinja:Trejn tu noŭer isn't 100% in Esperanto, it's in a sort of mix of languages that seems fashionable in a certain genre of European music in the last couple years.
There seems to be two versions of this album, one called Trejn tu noŭer and the other called Trajn' nenien, the latter being in 100% Esperanto.

It's funny to me but I wonder if it's only funny to people familiar with the American "Got milk?" ad campaigns. I wonder if people unfamiliar with that ad campaign would find it confusing rather than funny.
