Is this a valid Esperanto word?
Ekstudetis
As in, "Mi jam ekstudetis Esperanton por cxirkaux unu semajno nun."
Seemed intuitive to me, but a little simplistic. I was trying to say I've already started to study a little bit of Esperanto for a week or so now.
Gxi laboras aux ne?
I know I probably should have said "Mi jam komencis studi Esperanton..." but that was just the first way it occurred to me.
Dankon!

dragonsgift:Is this a valid Esperanto word?Yep. It roughly means "I/you/he/... gave a try to the textbook for the first time right then"
Ekstudetis
As in, "Mi jam ekstudetis Esperanton por ĉirkaŭ unu semajno nun."You should use "dum" instead of "por". Also there is no need for "ek". "ek" means that the action has just begun or has been instantaneous. If you mean to say that you have started studying (not too hard) Esperanto a week ago, then I would phrase it this way,
Mi komencis studeti Esperanton jam antaŭ semajno
Ĝi laboras aŭ ne?I think what you meant to say is "Ĉu tiu frazo taŭgas?".

I think what you meant to say is "Ĉu tiu frazo taŭgas?Ah, multaj dankon! Ĉu mi diris ke mi estas komencanto de Esperanto?
I was trying to say "I've studied a little Esperanto for about a week." I don't know the Esperanto for "un poco".
Dankon denove!

I would advise you to delete all quoted parts you are not going to reply to. The original messages can be seen above on the thread list and it is useless to repeat them

"Mi komencis studi iom de Esperanto jam antaǔ semajno."
Better or worse?

dragonsgift:"Mi komencis studi iom de Esperanto jam antaǔ semajno."If I understand you correctly, there are two ideas here: (a) you began studying a week ago, and (b) have learned a little. So an alternative translation might be:
Mi komencis studi Esperanton antaux unu semajnon, kaj lernis iom.
You might add 'nur' before 'iom' if you wanted to stress that you had learned only a little.

If I understand you correctly, there are two ideas here: (a) you began studying a week ago, and (b) have learned a little.Pretty close. I was trying more to express that A) I began studying a week ago, and B) After a little study I learned a great deal.
What is the best and most concise way to express that?
