Some experienced Esperantist once told me that she would read "Retoriko" again and again, just for the sheer pleasure of Ivo Lapenna's prose style.
But not all people think alike. What's your idea? In your opinion, which one of the Esperanto authors have reached the highest level of artistic merit, and which books do you consider to be the best? Here I am more interested in prose rather than poetry.
Ps.
I am aware of William Auld's list. That's a basic reading list to get a grasp of Esperanto literature. It would be nice to hear the ideas of other Esperantists too.

If you're interested in literary style, I recommend buying a copy of Sutton's "Concise Encyclopedia of the Original Literature of Esperanto". It's in English, an excellent guide to the development of Esperanto literature.

I personally enjoyed listening to some of these. Esperanto needs more of such orators.
