Ĉu la subaj frazoj estas samsignifaj? Aŭ la unua frazo estas gramatike malĝusta?
Frazo 1: It will be more than a quarter of a century in 2016 when athletes from across the province will [sic] gather in Penticton to participate in the 2016 BC Winter Games.
Frazo 2: It will have been more than a quarter century since athletes from across the province last gathered in Penticton when they do so once again for the 2016 BC Winter Games.
Mi skribis la unuan frazon. Sed redaktisto ŝanĝis ĝin al la dua. Mi volas demandi lin sed li ne aperos baldaŭ. Tial mi demandas vin, ĉu la unua frazo estas gramatike malĝusta en la angla?
Gramatikaj klarigoj (aŭ ligiloj) certe helpos!
Mi ne legis gramatikon de iu ajn lingvo. Sed mi intuicie imagas ke la Frazo 2 estas pli komplika versio de Frazo 1.

Aldona informo: La redaktisto estas parolas la anglan geparte. Mi lernis ĝin pere de gazetoj, libroj, televidilo, interreto, uzado de la lingvo en Barato kaj mia plej bona amiko la Oxford Concise Dictionary (1990 jara eldono). Gepatrajn parolantojn mi voĉparolis malpli ol kvin okazaĵoj.

Mi ne legis gramatikon de iu ajn lingvo. Sed mi intuicie imagas ke la Frazo 2 estas pli komplika versio de Frazo 1.
