Troyus23, regarding Claude Piron's debunking of "Ranto" you may want to add this page too, which is a private correspondence between him and a student. I actually find this a more compelling read than the main article, but both do a pretty good demolition job on Justin Rye's ill-informed and deeply unpleasant screed.

I think that we should reform the English language. First, off, we must absolutely find a norm for the pronunciation of "the" - then we might add a plural to "you" - the folks in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania, USA) have a cute one: "y'uns" - I like that! mmmm - and then the spelling - how about ...
If we put it to komencantoj like that, they may reconsider. I bet they never thought about reforming their mother tongue. As a matter of fact, no, on second thought forget it

Here in the Carolinas there are actually degrees of plurality :

you - singular
y'all - plural
all y'all - emphatic or extended plural

There's a clear difference in meaning between :

I've had enough of you!
I've had enough of y'all!
I've had enough of all y'all! (with stress on the first "all" ) ridulo.gif

I gave up and started learning toki pona instead, because it is several million time easier!
