So, I decided for christmas, to get a book. I figured a collection of essays or short stories would be best, as if I miss any plot (through my lack of esperanto knowledge), then it will not wreck the entire book. One book I have spotted so far is Ĉeriza Ĝardeno, which looks promising.

However, I am open to recommendations. Do you have anything in mind, which might suit what I'm after? Thanks!

On the other hand, if you are looking for something less "didactic", I suggest the books of Sten Johansson. He writes originally in Esperanto, and has published several collections of his short stories.
If you want to see if you like his stories, several of them can be read online. You can find links from the Wikipedia page about him:

I particularly liked "La ĉokolada biskvito" and "Denaska kongresano" (both of which can be read online).

mnlg:"Paŝoj al plena posedo", if you manage to locate a copy. It's exactly what you need. A collection of short stories, each one progressively introducing new words. There you go! Change the file extension from txt to rar and voilà.
Whose are the copyrights, anyway? Auld died the last year and there's no reference to copyrights in that doc...

As for Paŝoj al Plena Posedo, I looked on UEA and saw two versions.

That is the more expensive one. Does anyone know if it is hardback? If not, I will just buy the other cheaper one.
