captainzhang:4. It's root vocabulary is based on the six most widely spoken languages of the time. (which is cool)About containing root vocabulary someones can be sure. But how about if that root vocabulary comes beside with Lojban prefixes and suffixes? Is it possible to pronounce Lojban easily? Is there any chance that through mass use the pronouncation of Lojban will be fine tuned same way like national language communities did with their owns? Does Lojban have engraved in stone fundamento or is it prototype-alike but open for further development?

To the point where a few inconsequential mistakes are still there, like the word "kicne" was a typo, but since it still has correct morphology, it is still there. There's also the prefic ter- which should probably be tel-.
I think most people will find Lojban much easier to pronounce than Esperanto, because its morphology was very carefully planned.

Nile:I think most people will find Lojban much easier to pronounce than Esperanto, because its morphology was very carefully planned.Letter 'r' excluded, Esperanto itselves doesn't enforces well-sounded easy to produce pronouncation. Especially spoken by German natives it sounds horrible. Esperanto's -ajn, -ojn, it always caused me toothaches to hear.
What about Italian. Could Lojban pronouncation be capable of competing with well-sound Italian pronouncation?

Bruso:Try listening to Anton Oberndorfer, an Austrian whose Esperanto pronunciation is excellent:Depends on how to define excellent pronouncation. Generaly South-Western German and Austrian accent is more singsong alike. I didn't write that someones is not capable to learn how to pronounce Esperanto the Italian way.
I also don't understand why some French Esperanto users try to remove their well sounding French accent to let it sound German alike.

Altebrilas:It looks interesting, and worth playing with, but I wonder why they choose that unrememberable vocabulary instead of english - or esperanto - keywords. That's the trouble with an "international" vocabulary. Instead of being easy for a lot of people and difficult for some, it's just hard for everybody.

Altebrilas:It looks interesting, and worth playing with, but I wonder why they choose that unrememberable vocabulary instead of english - or esperanto - keywords. If by "keywords" you mean the gismu(root words), it's because the structure of a gismu is limited to CCVCV or CVCCV, and there are certain limitations on the consonant sequences allowed.
This is all so that you can unambiguously find the word boundaries in a (properly pronounced) utterance.

Bruso:Exactly. The bright side is that it prevents Lojbanists from promoting Lojban as an auxlang and allows us to concentrate on using itAltebrilas:It looks interesting, and worth playing with, but I wonder why they choose that unrememberable vocabulary instead of english - or esperanto - keywords. That's the trouble with an "international" vocabulary.
