I was wondering how you would say "I miss you" in Esperanto (in the sense, "I missed you so much when you were in Italy").

I know in French the meaning of the verb is backwards so you say, "Tu me manques". So I'm not sure how Esperanto deals with this situation. If anyone can give me a hand that'd be great.

Erinja gave a very good reply to your question in this thread.

In a specific context (like the person being missed when in Italy) I might stress the feeling a little more by saying 'Mi tiel sentis mankon pri vi, kiam vi estis in Italio', or perhaps 'Mi sentis tiom da mankon pri vi, kiam vi estis in Italio.'

Ah thank you for your quick replies. Erinja decided on Vi mankas al mi, and that seems to be very much like the French way. Good to know!

Thanks!
