While a "dirty" story is very probably, if not necessarily, morally bad, thus "fia," there are many other ways that a story could be "fia," so "maldeca" is clearer.What is the context for the phrase "I'll make it MY way!" in the original English text? Could you give some of the surrounding text? The English word "make" has so many different uses and meaning, especially in casual speech. The biggest thing is the verb - is he talking about causing something to be his way? You say he means "to make it to somewhere" - is he responding to someone asking "How will you make it there?"
I am very glad for everyone's input, it has all been very helpful. While I'm at asking for input, there is one more sentence that I am not entirely sure about - the character says "I'll make it MY way!" "Make it" meaning to make it to somewhere, not literally make something. What I currently have written is "Mi atingos per MIAJ rimedoj!" If that can be improved, I would appreciate any suggestions.

I used your panel to look for the rest of the text of this - in this particular case, it looks like there isn't anything in particular that the guy is "making". It's actually a bit of a strange expression used here, I don't know when these comics were written but it seems to me that no one really talks like that. I would take this as your license to be liberal in your translation of this expression. Seems like you would be just fine with almost any expression that is dismissive of the quote that precedes it.
I'd put something like "Mi vivos laux mia maniero!" (I will live in my way). Or maybe "Mi vivos laux mi mem" (in contrast to the opposite of what the comic seems to be saying, namely, "mi vivos laux kristo" ). Are you trying to limit the length of expressions to fit into the bubbles without making the text too small?

If you're doing this translation for language learning purposes and not for religious purposes, you might finish your translation anyway and then compare yours with the existing one. Incidentally I looked at the translation for the segment I mentioned above - the other translator did not try to be literal at all with the English, and I am honestly not even sure what he or she meant to be saying in the context.

I did, and noticed that there are quite a few errors of grammar, spelling, and such, so I actually notified Chick about it, and now I am working with the translation department to improve the translation. This is actually one of the better ones - some of them use words like "humiliĝita," which is not even possible!

If you're doing this translation for language learning purposes and not for religious purposes, you might finish your translation anyway and then compare yours with the existing one. Anyway,
sudanglo: Mi iros la propran vojon.
erinja: "Mi vivos laux mia maniero!"..."Mi vivos laux mi mem."What I now have currently is "Mi iros laŭ mia vojo!" I would like to retain the italicized possessive.
I plan to submit the translation tomorrow, so if anyone wants to save the current translation to see if I improved it any, or has any more suggestions, they can do that today. (Not that I expect the edits to appear immediately)
