It seems as though many religious people/groups have adopted Esperanto as means to achieve their greater goal of loving others. Also, I have heard that a lot of Vegetarians, Vegans, Communists, ect. are attracted to the Esperanto language. So I thought I would do this poll to get a rough idea. Sorry if I didn't mention a particular subculture/lifestyle that you belong to. In such a case, can you post about it below. Thanks.

And you decided to put this thread in the English subforum because … ?

Indeed; you would get a lot more accurate results by putting this in one of the Esperanto forums. Vidpunktoj might be the best place for it.

I've often wondered myself if it is that these groups of people are attracted to Esperanto, or if the type of person who is interested in Esperanto is just open-minded and free thinking enough to have made several unconventional decisions in life.

You are right. I should have posted this in the Esperanto forum. Oppps. I think it is too late now. The admin will be ticked off at me if I duplicate the post. Oh well. At least this will give me a good idea of the English speaking portion of the Esperanto movement.

You have to be somewhat left-wing politically to learn a language that unites the world. You have to be somewhat open minded to do something that is not in the mainstream. Therefore, I think Esperanto does attract certain types of people who are free thinking.

There's no problem with posting the same thing written in Esperanto in the Esperanto forums. There is no rule at lernu against having a discussion on the same topic in two different forums with different languages.

I vehemently protest against this poll!

Thumbs up for having 'non-sexual' available.

It appears as though I am allowed to repost this in the esperanto forum. I will include Sith there.

Edit: I tried to repost this but there is a limit to the amount of choices that I can input with the esperanto forum. Therefore, I can't repost it.

I am also a Libertarian. Also, more specifically, I am an Orthodox Christian. I ticked both Vegan and Vegetarian, since depending on the time of year, I am both (in addition to omnivorous).
