It seems as though you are trolling. Anyway, Esperanto is not a cult or a gang. As far as I know, it is a language. You can't get out of a language.

This is a struggle between reason and feeling. In mho you both are partially right. The two ways have their quirks, but there are reasons of which reason knows nothing. So, although I am wrong, I prefer the way of the heart, because Esperanto is much more than a language.

If there are any beginners (komencantoj) who read this thread, I respectfully suggest that they ignore the message which began this thread. Yes, there are issues, often personal issues, involved with learning any new language. For example, over fifty years ago when I was beginning to learn French, there were (adolescent) students in the class who were baffled over the idea that "Je suis allant" was not a perfectly good French expression equivalent to the English "I am going," completely misunderstanding that "Je suis allant" would probably seem literally bizarre to a native francophone.

To be sure, learning any new and (even relatively) unfamiliar language requires mental adjustment, and beginners will makes mistakes until they internalize the "genius" of the language. And, yes, it is not unusual for beginners to think, "Why don't we do it this way?" so that some people will castigate them. Ignore those people. If you are a learner (komencanto), realize that you will have to make some mental adjustments and realize that not everything will be familiar to you. This is just the way is it. But don't let intolerant "spertuloj" (some of whom are only self-proclaimed "experts" ) discourage you from learning Esperanto the correct way. Give it time, and a lot of it will make sense when earlier it did not seem to.

AllenHartwell is a POS troll that has not made a single genuine post since it joined these forums. It plays the role of an Esperanto extremist, and generally chimes in on beginner threads with the intention of telling off beginners who ask questions about nonstandard Esperanto. Hell, I've seen it show up in random discussions to profess its ridiculous characterization of conservative esperantism.

Pay no attention to what this thing has to say.

Surely the title of this thread is going to put beginners off. I am sure Zamenhof would not agree with the views expressed in the first message. Also,shouldn't the writer moderate his language?
I make a lot of mistakes in my messages and e-mails - partly because I try to translate exactly from English to Esperanto and it doesn't always work. I am sure it is the same with translations from other foreign languages. I will see something that I think is incorrect and then think that maybe that is how they would have said it in their language. I don't think they should leave Esperanto.
I am staying and the author of this thread will just have to accept my mistakes. Of course, when he sees my name he can ignore my writings.
