Hey guys, I'm sorry to bother you but I have a question.

I was using the dictionary to the word "from" in Esperanto but it shows me that "from" is "de" and "el".
Which one should I use, for example, to say "I am from Brazil"? "Mi estas de Brazilo" or "Mi estas el Brazilo"?

I would say 'de Brazilo' for the meaning that you are a Brazilano.

If you want to convey nuance that you have come from Brazil (this is the point of origin of your journey) then 'el Brazilo'.

But the issue is perhaps not clear cut. I wouldn't be surprised to hear either 'El kiu lando vi estas?' or 'De kiu lando vi venas?' for an enquiry about my nationality.

For the answer to these questions perhaps it is more natural in Esperanto to say Mi estas brazilano/franco/anglo etc.
