What is the difference between Helo and Lumo?

According to the Universala Vortara which is part of the Fundamento:
I would conclude from there definitions that helo is something like "clarity", "glare" (a strong and dazzling light); while "lumo" is simply any light (source of illumination). Cf German "Helle/Helligkeit" and "Licht" or Spanish "claro/claridad" and "luz".

How would we then describe the light from the sun? Does the sun produce Helo or Lumo?

The EM radiation within the visible spectrum is called lumo.
Depending on the intensity, frequency, etc of such radiation which falls onto our retina, we perceive a certain amount of helo.

So, the sun produces lumo, which then can produce helo in a given place.
