acobjum:He behaves as though any changes (which are strictly for artistic purposes of a fictional land's history/culture) will threaten Esperanto and attract crazy/nerdy people.
Vestitor:I can't see it appealing to nerdy people at all.You say this as though there were something wrong with being a nerdy person.
Vestitor:The point I make is that something very often gets judged by its bedfellows. You see a club being frequented by mainly criminals, you conclude the club is a criminal hangout. You probably avoid it, even though it may not be what you think it is.Now nerdy/eccentric people are being subtly compared to criminals.
Again. Why should we care what stupid people (who can't be bothered to become modestly informed before passing snap judgments on everything) think about Esperanto? Those kinds of people are unlikely to learn Esperanto anyway.

Vestitor:Super. Now the synopsis has been submitted, proceed with the story. Maybe the names can be difficult to pronounce too, and there can be a wise elf in a cave. I can't see it appealing to nerdy people at all.Not very kind to put down people's taste in literature. You are welcome not to read what doesn't appeal to you. Not every kind of literature/music/art appeals to every person, but you should be glad that someone wants to write something original in Esperanto, to make their own contribution to our language's body of work, even if it is something you aren't too interested in. If no one reads it other than the author, then it has still served the excellent function of helping the author improve his or her Esperanto. I learn new words every time I translate something or write a long text. I hope you will contribute something to Esperanto culture that is a better match for your personal taste, if you don't like what others are creating.

But yes, I should not denigrate people's tastes.
