I personally would call the devide a grafikkarto or a grafikadaptilo, and its driver a pelilo as proposed in the komputeko. So all together pelilo por grafikadaptilo.

In my humble opinion, "pelilo" is a bad term for "driver" in computer terminology. A driver is not any mechanical engine, that makes the video card run, it is a program that controls all its functions and data transmission. So a better word would be "regilo". Pelilo comes from the verb peli:

So "pelilo" is a driver in mechanical terms. I think the the problem lies in the English ambiguity of the word "driver" which Google translate does not "understand" properly.

I never considered this use to be quite correct. I prefer "regilo", "adaptilo", "traktilo" or "zorgilo". Those terms are much closer to what a driver really does.

I think that internally Google translates all texts into English which is a bad idea. If I try to translate from Polish, I get:

sterownik karty (card driver) - ŝoforo. !
sterownik drukarki (printer driver) - Printer Driver. That's a hit!!!
