'Spalting' in Esperanto?

I find myself once again trying to figure out how to express a really obscure word in Esperanto. The word is 'Spalting' and it is mostly used in reference to woodcraft. Here's what this wikipedia article has to say about spalting.
Spalting is any form of wood coloration caused by fungi. Although primarily found in dead trees, spalting can also occur under stressed tree conditions or even in living trees. Although spalting can cause weight loss and strength loss in the wood, the unique coloration and patterns of spalted wood are sought after by woodworkers.
Unfortunately this article is only available in Swedish and Norwegian besides English, but it doesn't look like either of those languages have adopted anything close to the English language term. Actually it looks like the word only entered English in the 1970's!

Because the effect of spalting, coloring the wood, is caused from fungus entering the wood, I'm wondering if 'fungokolorigo' would get the idea across in everyday conversation. I realize I could just bring it into Esperanto as 'spalto' or something, but I really strive to use terms that at least give folks a picture when they hear it.

In Norwegian and sweedish it is called "blue wood". Fungokolorigo kinda sounds like it was colored with the color of fungi, but it might be the best word or funga kolordamaĝo ?

The English word comes from German Spalten (spall in English) which also encompasses the meaning of decomposition (which is what the fungus effectively does). Crack and fissure are also indicated in the meaning.

Miskoloriĝo fare de fungo-penetrado is all a bit of a mouthful, I would go for spaltita with a gloss.

Whilst fung-kolora might mean of having the colour of fungi (analogous with roz-kolora, prun-klora, metal-kolora ktp) I think that in fum-kolor(ig)ita or brul-kolor(ig)ita the idea of agency is apparent.

So fungo-kolorita might do for spalted - more explicitly funge miskolorita, or funge dekolorita.

I suppose another possibility would be 'putreta' since basically the spalting is the beginning of the rotting of the wood. If left too long the wood would become useless (for woodworking) because it would be too rotten.

Belputro might work as it gives both aspects of the word without all the worry about science.
