erinja:People need to pass the C level to become a tutor at lernu, so if you are an experienced Esperantist who wants to become a tutor, all you need to do is take the C exam, you can skip A and B because they are not relevant to your requirement for becoming a tutor.That makes sense.

I've been studying Esperanto diligently for just over a week now (halfway the third quarter on the Duolingo tree now), and this thread inspired me to take the A exam just to get a sense of where I'm at and where I need to work on. I fully expected to fail horribly, but to my surprise it was much easier than I thought! I only barely failed with a 43/50 score, and had only one section with two wrong answers. Now I really regret I didn't take the test tomorrow and did some dedicated study until then, which I considered but decided against.
Maybe I'll also do the B exam today, because the A exam, while moderately helpful in pointing out a few problem areas in the basics, did not really help me find my bearings the way I expected it to.
