Hi, I'm Matt, and I'm a trans masculine pansexual boy (he/him). I started learning Esperanto about a month and a half ago on Duolingo and I've fallen in love with the language. Since Esperanto isn't as widely spread as other languages, I've found it a bit difficult to find niche groups in the Esperanto community (perhaps because I haven't been looking hard enough haha). Anyway, I was wondering if any other LGBTQ+ Esperantists were interested in making a Kik group or something where we could practice Esperanto but also talk about LGBTQ+ issues, experiences, etc. If there is already a similar thread I apologize haha. But thank you and let me know what you think!

Hi, Matt. Welcome! I don't know Kik. But there is an LGBTQ Esperanto group, Ligo de Samseksemaj Geesperantistoj. Sorry their website is so out of date but this is it: LSG

Our community here at lernu is pretty diverse, too, so perhaps someone else can share some good resources with you.

Sonja Kisa has a great dictionary that includes a lot of LGBT (the Esperanto acronym is GLAT) terms. Sonja's English-Esperanto Dictionary

What does the 'Q' stand for in that acronym?

Is that different from the G representing 'gay'?

I do believe gay means homosexual while queer is any nonhetro sexuality
I am really not sure. Maybe OP knows ridulo.gif

Q = Questioning.

Well I've learned something new.

I always understood that one "Q" stands for "queer", meaning any sexuality that is not heterosexual - kind of a catch-all. (Out of curiosity, would this also include asexuality?)

When there are two Qs, I understand that the second means "questioning". (The extended acronym seems to be rarer nowadays, though.)
