What's the difference in between the meanings of aliĝi and kuniĝi in the below sentence:

1. Mi aliĝos la rebelo
2. Mi kuniĝos la rebelo

I'm trying to write a short story, so this would help a lot.

No difference at all. Both sentences don't make any sense. What are the subjects of the sentences?

"I come together" or the "again-beauty (re'bel'o) comes together"?

In general al'iĝ'i means "aldoniĝi, almetiĝi, aniĝi, aparteniĝi al"; and "kun'iĝ'i" means "iĝi kuna".

If you want to say "I will join the rebellion" you could use "Mi aliĝos al la ribelo", "Mi iĝos ribelano", "Mi aniĝos al la ribelo", "Mi ribelaniĝos" or something similar.

I don't know the answer to the question but here are some free grammar checkers that may be useful when you write your story:

Don't be shy to ask more questions. It would be my pleasure to help.

Aliĝi means "join", as in joining a group. Kuniĝi means to come together. So if you want to say "I will join the rebel/s" that could be Mi aliĝos al la ribelulo/j. However "The rebel and I will come together" could be La ribelulo kaj mi kuniĝos.

Ah, Yes. Why didn't I think of that?

Clearly the OP meant ribelo rather than rebelo and so it was a question to translate 'I will join the rebellion'.
