I would not place "okazi" on the same level with "fariĝi" or "iĝi" because (to my ear, anyway) it does not take a predicative too well.
You can say Mi iĝis lingvisto or Mi fariĝis lingvisto, but I struggle to think of a similar structure where you could use okazi.

You can say Mi iĝis lingvisto or Mi fariĝis lingvisto, but I struggle to think of a similar structure where you could use okazi.
Uragano farigxis granda. = Subject undergoes change = Not okazi
Uragano farigxis. = Subject is the result of the change (light wind turned into a storm) = Okazi

Okazi is an interesting wort. It is definitely connected with "to happen" and situation of a concrete subject.
Boundedly okazi and iĝi have interchangeability also fariiĝi and iĝi too, but okazi and fariĝi have very little one.
I say for every time they may select it enough definitely.
