Hmm, well, I can't imagine the EU taking the slightest notice of it, but it is an interesting project; certainly better-developed than mine! That url at first glance looked like "govro for thee u", which momentarily confused me. senkulpa.gif
I might sound like an asshole now, but could you (not you, Christa, in personal) please leave that to the Europeans?

I wouldn't dare making suggestions towards US-citizens or Canadians to e.g. make Spanish their official language though it would somehow make sense. Just because it's totally none of my business.
It's an American behind the 'project' though.

I'm a European, but I agree that the official EU won't give it a first look, never mind a second one. Look at their stance on Esperanto. This is not a 'will of the people' issue, but a 'will of the Eurocrats' issue.

I don't see anything to be in a huff about; doesn't every auxlanger dream of being recognized by the EU? Let him dream! It doesn't hurt anything.

Miland:Turning to a common custom on Zamenhof day, of buying an Esperanto book: anyone made any decisions? I just ordered a specialist glossary.
I didn't buy anything; I just downloaded the "Kristnaska Kanto" pdf. I finished reading it last night. Someday, when I have all the time in the world, I'll translate the unabridged version... so many things I would do, if I just had the time, resources, and/or know-how!

As far as I'm concerned, people express opinions on issues that don't directly affect them all the time, so I am not bothered by an American having an opinion about the direction the EU should take (and certainly I have heard lots of EU citizens expressing their loud opinions on the direction they think the USA should take!)

I did not order any books for Esperanto book day but a couple months ago I made an order of a few things that my Esperanto collection seemed a little incomplete without, including a couple of picture dictionaries. It has already come in handy during a discussion of sedans!

I have mostly stopped purchasing physical Esperanto CDs. Vinilkosmo sells a lot of music by MP3 now so in most cases I'd rather buy it electronically and save myself the trouble of having a physical disk to store.

On the Govro thing, I took a brief glance and was amused to note that no is "ne" and yes is "ane". I guess it discourages indecision since you can't say "ahhh..." as you decide whether to say yes or no, since this would make your answer unclear. I am happy that he has found a new project to enjoy, however. He can have a good old-fashioned competition with Slovio. His page is certainly easier to read and less spammy looking than theirs!
