In the sense of a passage from the Bible. I first thought to use "sekcio" as a section of verses, but then I began to think "versoj" or "versaro." But often it doesn't exactly follow a collection of full verses, because the versing of the Bible can cut thoughts and themes. Sometimes a passage is only a part of one verse (which is why none of these really seems to work well); other times, it may be several verses with either the beginning verse or ending verse not being completely included. Am I over-thinking this? What are your thoughts? Dankon Antaŭe...

I imagine that what defines a passage is that it contains one single train of thought and is closed in itself, no matter whether it spans half a verse, one verse or several verses. Maybe the very general term "tekstero" might work.

How about:

ekstrakto - something extracted
diro - something that is said
pripenso - something to think about
dia saĝeco - Godlike wisdom
