Yes, I think it's fine to get help in translating the page and that doing so isn't a sign of any attempts to mislead. But as a learning exercise it would be wonderful for geraldoph to make a stab at it himself first, and post his translation - even if it starts out as being very imperfect. I think people would be more than willing to help correct and/or suggest alternate wordings.

Yes, RiotNrrd, that's exactly what I was suggesting that he do. Sorry if that didn't come through clearly in my post but I agree with you 100%!

Yes, that's obviously the best way.

Then the web page will be written correctly, geraldoph will get a better look into Esperanto, and a highly proficient Esperantist gets the chance to help. rideto.gif

That's the best way to get the work done.

Gerald

I think you were clear, Erinja - I simply didn't see your post prior to my own. We're just on the same page, is all! rideto.gif

Geraldoph, I know that for a beginner, translating a page like the one you posted into a language you've just started learning seems practically impossible. But we're talking about Esperanto here - really, it's probably not as difficult as you might think. And do NOT be afraid of making errors. Even appalling, embarrassing, hideous, errors. Making errors is what we, as beginners, do! Several of the threads in the Esperanto language forums right now concern some of my own appalling, embarrassing, and hideous errors - and I'm learning a lot from them. I plan on making even more, later! okulumo.gif

FuturaWeb will not publicate any page in Esperanto if it does not have professionals that can comunicate in this language.
All of this is a project for while.
You all are right in everything you said.
I will start to translate the page and publicate my translation here. This is way for learning and keeping in contact with you.

Can I try to translate. Do you help me?

I cannot make promises for others, but based on my experience here it is almost guaranteed that people here will help you. This site is filled with people who have always been willing to help in the past.

Thanks, Vizaĝetoj!
I am going to start...

Your company on the internet: Web sites are so much more than a products and services guide...

Via entrepreno en la interreto: Paĝaroj estas pli ol gvidanto da produktaĵo kaj servo...

I would suggest the following alterations

change en to je, The company is not literally inside the internet (or physically on it so sur won't work either) so the indefinite preposition works better here.

Also you can translate "so much" (roughly) as tiel (in that way)

So I'd end up with somethng like

Via firmo je la interreto: TTT Paĝaroj estas tiel pli ol gvido por varoj kaj servoj.
