Hello, I'm new to the site and also new to Esperanto. I just started learning the language and I'm enjoying it very much. I was procrastinating for my finals and I photoshopped a couple of relatively everyday signs into Esperanto. Here's what I have so far, let me know what you think!

Haltu

Elirejo

Bonvenon al Nov-Jorkio

Ĝuu!

It's a cool idea, except for the "Bonvenon al Nov-Jorkio," because of the mention of a local place, so it kind of makes it sound not-local,if you know what I mean. It's a pretty cool idea, though. rido.gif

Nice work. I like the expression 'procrastinating for my finals', maybe that's a suitable expression for a sticker, coffee mug, etc!

It might look something like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/eo/0/0f/GD10...

Ah Frankseno, I have been looking for a picture of the Esperanto signs from the Chaplin film! Dankon!

Also be aware that "empire" is "imperio" in Esperanto - not "empiro". Empiro is indeed a word, but it refers to an architectural style, so you wouldn't refer to a state using that word.

That would make it that "Imperi-ŝtato" or "Imperio-ŝtato"

Glad to help! But I had actually started out trying to find some of the E-o signs from Blade: Trinity, but for some reason I couldn't turn any up.
