I think, that English uses the compound word "cash register" more often than many other languages their literal equivalents. We have "pay by cash", kontante pagi, "cash office" (a separate room for handling cash), kasejo, "pay at (the) cashier (counter)/checkout/cash register", pagi ĉe la kaso and "cash register" (the machine), kasregistrilo. My understanding is, that kaso (vd. PIV) is enough in most cases, and only need kasregistrilo when you need to talk about the keys, buttons and whatever on that specific machine.

"Enkasigilo" kaŭzas al mi mentalan imagon de viroj en ledaj rokoj kaj kun bazopilkaj rakedoj, kiam ili superpendas uzi la rakedoj kiel enkasigiloj
