Zam_franca:Nope, we won't change the whole Esperanto grammatical system.
Estas tiel. And it really well works.
That is not what I was asking. I just want to hear you all's beliefs and viewpoints.

Also, I don't want to change the whole grammatical system of Esperanto. One of the reasons why I am attracted to this language is because it is easy to learn. The biggest reason why even I created this topic is because I hoping one of you all could change my mind about things like this.

I have kept wondering the whole discussion and all the schools there are out there (ĝi-ismo, iĉ-ismo, ip-ismo, j-ismo, parentistmo and j-parentismo to name a few). I don't deny, that some of them have some merits, while others just make things overly complicated. However to me they all seem to suffer from the same problem: they emphasise the sex/gender instead of focusing on the person as a person. Ecce homo!

Therefore IMHO using suffix -ino in any other use than for some kinship words (patrino, filino etc.) is just old-fashioned. And the pronoun ri covers us all.

Well this is my point of view. Of course this is not the whole grammatical system, but the "genre" reform deals with a huge grammatical changement, and thinking of that we should never forget that Esperanto is a real language, just as Xhosa, Spanish or English.

In English there is e. g. the neologism "nibling" that is a gender-neutral version of "nephew/niece". Has English ceased to be English because of this? https://youtu.be/eDV_9iKa_h8

Estus escepto!
