Yes, they are most likely bots. Anyone can register to this site and the site seems to have minimal spam protection. Good protection costs either directly, i.e. you pay to a service, or indirectly in form of a lot of work, yours or someone else's. For some reason this site looks to be favoured by Chinese language bots, which on the other hand makes it easier for the moderators to catch them.

I have found it helpful to think both antaŭ and post (when speaking about time) to always mean "before" resp. "after". Make first a literal translation with those and fix it later if necessary.

I don't really understand your use of "oni" here.

Ni manĝis antaŭ ol vi alvenis - we were eating (or we had eaten) before you arrived.
'manĝis' can mean both 'were eating' and 'had eaten' and simple 'ate'.
This meens only that the event 'we ate' were before the event 'you arrived'

'Oni' mean one or more people, of any sex, which you don't want name or don't know at all.
In most cases 'oni' is translated 'they'.
