Does anyone know of any graphic novels or comics that have been translated into Esperanto, and where I could find them?

I know many people who would probably get interested in learning a little Esperanto, if there were an interesting graphic novel/manga to read in it.

I've found several old Russian animations and such with E-o subtitles, which proved rather entertaining, so I'm longing for some other visual stories. (Even any other animations suggested)

Thanks for any suggestions!

A few esperantists (mostly Italian) have translated the first issue of Ratman. You can find information (and an ordering form) here:

About Ratman:

On the Esperanto version of the Wikipedia page you can find links to other comics translated in Esperanto. Perhaps one of the most famous is Astérix, but I have little information about it since I never liked it okulumo.gif

I have three Asterix in Esperanto. I'm trying to remember the titles off the top of my head - "Asteriks kaj la Olimpiaj Ludoj" I'm pretty sure about.

There's two Tintin books in Esperanto, Tinĉjo en Tibeto and La Nigra Insulo. There's a comic book by Claude Piron, Kiu estas Jozefo? which is on this website here.
Some of these may only be available second hand.

ELNA's bookstore sells the Tintin graphic novels as well as a few others, including an Esperanto translation of Barefoot Gen (Nudpieda Gen) and some work by the Japanese manga master Osamu Tezuka.
I purchased Tintin in Tibet from them and am looking at what to buy next...

I appreciate all the links and info. ridulo.gif
A lot of the places on the net for obtaining them via download are broken now, so the two that appeal enough to me to pursue purchasing are Asterix and La Flambirdo.

Clearly, though, we need to band together a translation team for a short and good manga series to distribute on the net. I'd tackle it all myself, but I at least need someone who'd be willing to proofread my grammar. Sound fun to anyone?

I'd be willing to give you morale support. ;D

Hah, well that's better than no support at all, eh? ;P

Probably to get more support and interest, you should translate a few shorter things at first.

Which I could give you the morale to do, of course.

Good thinking, mia morala apogulo. I'll look into translating the first few pages of something soon, and posting it here.
