Hello
I am quite beginner in esperanto, well, even if I speak not English, it is more easy to require in english..

I want to know, wich language on the WINDOWS XP:s language-selction I have to select foor writing the Esperantos specialletters (I mean such as english "j" foor exempel in word "Journal") With my mother tongue (wich is finnish) alphabets I have to use "jx" combination.

Very difficult and cause confusion malgajo.gif

I can't help you with a keymap for eo in Windows itself, but there is a nice Firefox extension that I used to use called "abcTajpu" that allows you to easily type the supersigned characters. With this extension, you type the letter ("c", for example), a caret (^), and the Insert key, and you'll end up with a ĉ.

I no longer use it anymore because the version of Linux that I use allows me to easily switch between the English and eo keymaps, so I can use the supersigned characters in all applications. But prior to doing that, I was able to at least type the eo letters within Firefox.

I also use Ek.

For those that prefer a proper keyboard layout (for Windows) that doesn't need two keystrokes to make a supersigned letter, you could try this on the Scottish Esperanto site:

http://www.skotlando.org/Downloads/Keyboard/inde...

I haven't tried it myself. I suppose it works. It looks like it should work with British keyboards OK. American ones aren't 100% the same (no £ symbol if I remember correctly amongst other minor differences), but I don't think that would affect it. (How it would behave with a German keyboard (y and z in reversed positions) I don't know. And what it does with a Finnish keyboard - well - you'd just have to try it!)

There also seems to be some stuff for Linux there too.

Nick
