I've created a channel for skits in esperanto, because I think the more esperanto stuff there is on youtube the more people will be interested in esperanto.

I've already written up a skit
What i'm going to do is have my sister filming me and saying somethings to my brother in esperanto, he knows no esperanto.

Here is the skit, in english and in esperanto

Cxu vi havas ne vivo?
Cxu vi ne havas amikohn, kaj nenio fari?
Cxu vi volas paroli kun homoj vi ne scias de landoj vi ne auxdis?
Je esperanto estas por vin!

Do you have no life?
Do you have no friends and nothing to do?
Do you want to talk to people you don't know from countries you've never heard of?
Then esperanto is for you!

Is that grammatically sound?

So, I'm going to have subtitles for this in esperanto and english.

If you have any suggestions for the skit, or would like to suggest some video ideas, please feel free to write something.

Thank you.

By the way, the youtube channel is www.youtube.com/alexesperanto

edit: I'm also planning to put learning esperanto stuff on there, and in every video I'm going to advertise lernu.net

Good idea....there always needs to be more Esperanto "out there"!

Not quite:
Ĉu vi havas nenian vivon?
Ĉu vi havas neniujn amikojn kaj nenion por fari?
Ĉu vi volas paroli kun homoj, kiujn vi ne konas, de landoj, pri kiuj vi ne aŭdis?
Do, Esperanto estas por vi!

About prepositions: Unless there is movement toward/inTO/onTO/"underTO"/etc involved, you should ALWAYS use the nominative/base form. You'll be much less likely to make a mistake doing it that way!

Maybe some "phrasebook" situations? A conversation common upon meeting someone for the first time (greetings, introduction, "nice to meet you" stuff), things like that.

So people who learn esperanto have no life, no friends, and nothing to do ?

No, but it's a heck of a good start in GETTING a life, some friends and things to do, isn't it?

*Drako*:I think it was Alex's intention to be humourous Super, at least, I saw the funny side. rideto.gif

Are you sure the address for your channel is correct Alex? I still can't find it.
It's just humor, he's right. I learn esperanto too...

But it esperanto could be seen as a way of getting friends/life/etc. as the orthohawk said

there isn't anything on the channel yet, but I'm going to put a video on how to express numbers

I've uploaded the first video, it isn't much it's just basic numbers.

Very good lesson! TRE bona leciono!

If I may make a suggestion about the "r" though (I used to use this method with my Spanish students): If you say the word "ladder" as you would in a free-flowing conversation, the "dd" seems to lose the very strong "d" sound and change to a softer "tap" kind of sound.....it's this softer "tap" kind of sound that the "r" has in Esperanto.

Really? I thought rolling the r was optional.

And, thank you. I'm going to make one on the alphabet soon...

I noticed only two small mistakes, in the video you typed 'Lernu via numerojn' not 'Lernu viajn numerojn', and in the video description you put 'Lernu via bazaj numbroj. Iru a en.lernu.net' when you probably meant 'Lernu viajn bazajn numbrojn. Iru al en.lernu.net'.

I really enjoyed the video though, I thought it was a clever use of the picture-editing software!

You could also roll the R as you would in Russian (the alveolar trill), this IMHO sounds more neutral than the tapped R of Spanish (sorry orthohawk lango.gif)
