Does anyone know how to say "keyboard shortcut" in Esperanto? Could it be "klavara kombinaĵo"?

The CEED lists "kurtvojo" for "shortcut" (in both a literal and figurative sense).

"Kombinaĵo" works, though. Less literal, but an accurate description.

So, I'd think "klavara kombinaĵo" or "klavara kurtvojo" would both work, depending on how close to the English original you wanted to get.

Komputeko says klavkombino (key combination) and fulmoklavo (lightning key).

FYI in a contest between the Komputeko and the CEED, I'd go for the Komputeko. In the case of "fakvortoj" (specialist words), if you use the word suggested by a specialist publication (like the Komputeko), you have a better chance of getting the word that's actually used by the community who talks about whatever the word is.

Using the "Google method" of comparing word frequency, kurtvojo gets 68 hits, klavkombino gets 155, and fulmoklavo gets 599. So that's a Google usage vote for fulmoklavo (which is perhaps my preferred term).

I would personally avoid kurtvojo because of its use of kurt/, a highly unofficial root, a synonym for mallong/. Kurtvojo is precisely the sort of word that gives Benson a bad reputation - it contains an unofficial root that isn't used very frequently, and the word itself (kurtvojo) is seldom used by the community.

I didn't think about checking Komputeko. But I agree, in a face off between Komputeko and the CEED, I'd take the Komputeko version every time.

Many computer related terms are simply not in the CEED. Although it's not that old, I suppose that when it was written computers hadn't quite embedded themselves in normal life they way they have today.
