Frakseno:So, I've got noktelfo and sangelfo, orko, and homo. It's confusing I know. Apparently the word used for "dwarf" in Auld's translations of La Hobito and La Mastro de l' Ringo is "gnomo".
But can anyone help me with the appropriate Esperanto words for dwarf and gnome?
http://eo.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Hobito
I would use "gnomo" for gnome, even though technically gnomo can mean goblins and dwarves and so on also. And I guess then "nano" for dwarf, and "koboldo" for goblin.
Also don't forget "malmortulo" and "minotaŭro".

trojo:I can see that our in-game fakvortaro is going to grow to an unwieldy size before long. Perhaps I should create an online database dictionary somewhere else.

2. If we call goblins "koboldoj," what do we then call kobolds?

Frakseno:1. The g in "gnomo" is not silent, correct?Correct.
2. If we call goblins "koboldoj," what do we then call kobolds?"goblinoj", of course!
Just kidding, I have no idea.
On a sidenote: I do not play WoW and I don't really plan to; however there might be other esperanto speakers playing it, and they might not be visiting the English forum. Do you think it could be a good idea to move the topic to an Esperanto area of the forum, to attract more players to your guild?

However, I'm concerned that completely moving this thread over to the Esperanto-only forums would lose folks like me, who are not yet competent enough to spend much time over there.
In addition, I've raised the topic elsewhere such as on the official World of Warcraft forums and on my own Esperanto-language blog.
On the other hand, if this thread is proving to be annoying to the non-WoW players in this forum, we'll need to get that taken care of so as not to be disrupting things here.

After a while, I found myself having trouble controlling my play time and the game threatened to cause problems in my life as I began to neglect more important things in favor of playing WoW.
I apologize to La Ordeno and to my friends therein.
