Lunombrulino:Would it be easier if we started a yahoogroup on this topic?
I may be alone in feeling this way, but Yahoo groups are one of the biggest pains in the patoot I've had to deal with in the area of discussion boards and forums.
Would the guild board not be an already-existing solution to any issues we have?

whats the benifit of a yahoo group over the guildportal website http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=2547... ?
i never used a yahoo group, so i wouldn't know but it seems like we have enough places to write forms in. Also it seems that this form here at lernu, has been our best publicity, as it attracts people who are just starting to learning esperanto as well as people who are trying to strengthen their knowledge of esperanto.

also started (a while back)a facebook group called "Ordeno de la Verda Stelo" if anyone wants to join. right now its just for publicity i think.

Also as many of us are about to return to our busy lives, either back to school, or work, or both: it is extremely important for us to choose a meeting time(s) so the guild doesn't go dormant again. So today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9pm server time I'm going to log on to play for a while, everyone's welcome to join me! ridulo.gif

I transferred my Alliance main over to Twisting Nether and have also begun leveling a new Paladin on that server.
I shall endeavor to log on at 9pm server time tonight.

I've had trouble with the download installation, so I will have to find my disks. I am trying to get there, though. okulumo.gif

Is this guild still active? I see that it's still listed on on the Armory. I thought I'd never go Alliance again (Lok'tar Ogar!) but it's worth it for an Esperanto guild. I started a shaman named Gvidisto. I'm hoping you guys are still playing.

I've read through all the posts again, and I don't see any indication of recent activity of the Ordeno de la Verda Stelo.

I don't like PVP realms, because they don't allow players to leisurely explore and quest--you always have to watch your back for enemies.

I've been playing World of Warcraft for over 2 years, on a "normal" (non-PVP) server--Moonrunner--and I am on frequently, nearly every day, at varying hours of the day. We have a small family guild, but all 3 of us speak Esperanto, and would be glad to muddle through fantasy-game vocabulary with other Esperanto-WoW friends. Our primary guild is "Dark Rain," but I have a bank guild named "I Speak Esperanto," specifically to advertise Esperanto while I'm banking and working in the auction house. I have a couple of guild bank tabs available, too.

A couple of months ago, a member of our local Esperanto Society decided to subscribe to WoW after we presented the game at our monthly meeting. He is currently in the "I Speak Esperanto" guild.

I have saved up a lot of under-20 green gear for new players, so if you decide to create a character on Moonrunner, I'd be happy to share items with you to get you started. If you are brand new to World of Warcraft, I will be glad to mentor you, and to try to do so in Esperanto as much as possible. ridulo.gif

Please look for us on Moonrunner (US)--Alliance

My characters are: Francesa (primary), Sorchistino, Resanigisto, Trezora, Nebezonata, Februara, Nokto, and Kavalira.

I liked the idea posted above about setting up a worldwide chat room, so we would not be limited to group chatting only while in the same guild or party. So I have gone ahead and set up all my characters to automatically log in to an esperanto chat.

As someone else posted, simply type /join esperanto, then type /# (whatever number the room was assigned when you joined), and say hello--or, rather "Saluton." We hope to see you soon.

@ all members of Ordeno de la Verda Stelo, I must apologize for not loging on often anymore. I had hopped that during the summer I could revive the guild, but this year has been one of the hardest in my life. I am currently majoring in Spanish and can't really spent much time with Esperanto for the time being. Also both of my parents have been diagnosed with late stage cancer (I know it's like winning a very bad lottery!) which the doctors are useless to help (they are masters of procrastination, Canada's health care saves money by seeing how many people they can kill off first while waiting for doctor appointments that keep getting pushed to latter dates!) So the stress has caused me to lose interest in a lot of things including WoW, and I am also starting to lack motivation when it comes to language learning.

So I was hopping that someone else would like to take guild leadership from me. Someone who can really dedicate some time into the guild. I am also willing to play for a few hours a week, if someone sets up the time.

anyways if someone is willing to be the guild leader, please send me a message and we can arrange for a time for both of us to log on. And hopefully when my life gets a little back to normal, I can come back as a full time member but for now, you could say I'm on stress leave.

I can't help with the guild Senlando (as I am yet to have even played warcraft), but I wish you the best of luck and the same for your parents too. That is a real turd of a situation, but I reckon you should try and work through it and try and keep life normal. So I hope your parents' cancers heal, and that you are successful in your Spanish major (Buena suerta!)

We've had 4 additional Esperantists create new DKs and various small characters on Moonrunner (Alliance) in the last couple of weeks, bringing our official total to 7. It is still hit or miss, of course, with everyone having varied schedules. We've had some good chatting though, and we now have a Ventrilo server set up for even more fun. All guild members have privileges to set up events, so GM is not necessary to arrange get-togethers. (See my entries on previous lernu pages for info on finding us on Moonrunner.) Hope to see you there. ridulo.gif
