How do you say "whoops" or "oops" in Esperanto?

I use "ups".

Somewhat related expressions are 've' and 'fek'. The last one is a curse, though.

I like Uj, Aĥ and Ve. The first gives more of the sense of “Whoops!”, though, whereas Ho, ve! is more like “Oh, no” or “Oh, dear”. Ve, however, is official, while I don’t believe the other two are. (That would probably be the last thing on your mind, though, when you drop something—whether the form of the interjection you use is official…)

Benson has up! and hup!, which may be the nearest you can get in terms of sound, but neither are in PIV 2005. In terms of meaning, ho! may be near enough.

My two cents: if you're writing, use "ve" since it's formal. If speaking, exclaim. First thing that pops into your head. Which, since you seem to be a native English speaker, will probably be "whoops."

I know some people who say "fuŝ'!", which sounds very appropriate to me.

(fuŝi = to mess something up, to make a mistake)

It is a native Esperanto word, which makes it understandable to everyone.

Having said this - I say "ups". But if I were to write a story in Esperanto, with people living in an unnamed country, I might use "fuŝ'"
