Miĥil: I don't mean to seem rude, but I tried installing the ikse typing system that you uploaded to both my user keyboard layouts folder AND my system-wide one, but after logging out I can only find one that uses a semicolon ( in place of the X. is there any way to change this, or am I stuck with using the semicolon?
In either case, thank you SO MUCH for uploading this!

I don't know what that is. Probably another keyboard, default from apple or you installed that previously.
Check if the file is correctly installed:
michiel@belono:~/Library/Keyboard Layouts$ pwd
/Users/michiel/Library/Keyboard Layouts
michiel@belono:~/Library/Keyboard Layouts$ ls Esp*
Esperanto-iksoj.icns Esperanto-iksoj.keylayout
Then go to System Preferences -> Language & Texts -> Input Sources
and check 'Iksoj'.
It should simply work.

Got it! The file I selected decided to be screwy with me, so it saved itself as a .txt file! I am now typing on my new Ikse keyboard! Dankon, ĉiukaze, Miĥil!
