I checked out smartfm and its really cool. I think it'll be a great way to drum words into my subconscious. The only issue I have with it is an inability to type in accents. Does anyone know the trick to this?

On Windows, you can type the supersignajn literojn for example using Tajpi. I don't know if it's good as in the very rare cases I use Windows, I don't need that lango.gif

On Linux, there are several possibilities, depending on how you want to type the letters. you can read Esperanto en Linukso by Bertilo Wennergren to find out how to do this.

I don't know how it works on Mac OS X.

For Firefox: abcTajpu

For Windows in general: EK

Mac is easy - go into system preferences, international settings (On Snow Leopard, this is called 'language and text'), keyboard layouts (Snow Leopard - 'Input Sources'), and then either scroll down to 'U.S. Extended', or if you have Snow leopard there is a search bar underneath where you can simply type 'extended' and you'll find it easy-peasy.

Click it, then make sure a checkbox down the bottom is ticked 'Show Input menu in menu bar'), and start typing in EO.

option + 6 = ^, option + b, then press u = ŭ.

Also, this is quite a common question on this forum so you can search for the past threads on this using the search box underneath the website language selector rideto.gif

I've been using Anki for about 4 months with the Baza Radikaro list (works great):

http://ichi2.net/anki/

To get the Baza Radikaro word list, go here:

http://www.mnemosyne-proj.org/node/146

And you should be able to import it into Anki.
