Does anyone know what the best Esperanto word for "relationship" (as in emotional ties between people who have no consanguinity) would be?

I suggest interrilato for the notion of "human relationship" in the widest sense. There is a subtle difference with rilato according to PIV 2005, which indicates that the latter consists of a reciprocal linking by human acts, whether personal or commercial: ligiteco de agado inter personoj.

I almost always use rilato for this, though sometimes Miland's suggestion interrilato. ReVo has them as essentially the same but I can imagine interrilato might be clearer in some contexts.

If you would mean a relationship between lovers, the word is koramikeco. A friendship is amikeco.

(Inter)rilato is what I was looking for. Thanks!
